If a client decides to change their bank account after they process payroll, it may affect the bank account that shows on their reports.
If the client was to run a fresh copy of the Payroll Summary it is going to show the bank account attached at the time the report is processed, not at the time the payroll was processed. It is important that we direct our Clients to the Report Archive to run the reports associated with a specific payroll as that is going to show the bank account that was used when payroll was processed.
Important to note, if you do regenerate any reports within the Report Archive, it will then show the bank account that was attached when you regenerated.
Example: Client processed payroll on Tuesday at 10:14 am on the account ending in 1234, which is correct. The bank account was changed at 12 pm the same day to get ready for next week's payroll to an account ending in 4567.
The client called claiming they had a Payroll Summary showing the wrong bank account ending in 4567 and the Payroll Summary is time stamped at 12:30 pm. The client is saying the payroll was pulled from the wrong account based on the report.
After speaking with the client, they confirmed, they ran a copy of the Payroll Summary from the My Reports section at 12:30 which was after the bank change was made. In order to get an accurate breakdown of where the funds were pulled from, they needed to run it from their Report Archive.
